Our Staff

Working through the brokenness and trauma of your life is challenging. Our team has been in your shoes and knows first-hand the freedom that comes when you move into victory over your past.

Russell Willingham

Executive Director

Russell oversees individual counseling, group counseling and the overall vision of the ministry. He speaks at events around the nation on issues related to sexual brokenness, the healing process and spiritual formation. He has found much wholeness from Jesus for the broken areas of his own life that date back to childhood. He is the author of two books, Breaking Free and Relational Masks (both published by InterVarsity Press). Russell is married to Paula and attends Northwest Church.

Sheryl Busby, MA

Counselor

After receiving her Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, Sheryl joined the NCM staff in the spring of 2014. Sheryl brings a trauma focused narrative therapy approach to her work at NCM. In addition to completing her Master’s degree she has also completed the Training Certificate Levels I and II courses through the Allender Center at the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology.

Sheryl’s work at NCM includes helping women and men find healing from the profound harm of childhood sexual abuse and trauma. In addition, Sheryl provides care for women and men seeking freedom in their struggle with sexually compulsive behaviors. She also works with those affected by betrayal trauma (the result of being in an intimate relationship with someone who has engaged in infidelity, pornography addiction and other sexually broken behaviors).

An experienced speaker and Bible teacher, she speaks at events on the topics of relational and sexual brokenness, trauma and the healing process, reconciliation and spiritual development. Sheryl and her husband have two children and four grandchildren. They attend The Well Community Church in Fresno.

John Palms, MSW

Counselor and MInistry Leader

After earning his degree, John worked with Valley Teen Ranch, the foster care system, and adoptive families through Koinonia Family Services. With over 2 decades of private practice experience, he joined the staff of NCM in 2018.

His greatest desire is to help husbands and wives learn how to better love one another. “This can only be accomplished,” John says, “by letting God’s love impact them first and then learning to love God together.”

Mike Manzie

Director of Operations

Mike served for over twenty years in law enforcement, did consulting work for NASA and built two successful businesses from the ground up. He has served on the boards of several churches and non-profit ministries and developed policy and training materials used in business and by law enforcement departments around the nation.

As a law enforcement officer and as a business owner Mike saw firsthand the damage that sexual brokenness caused in the lives of men, women and their families. As a leader in the church he also led Christ-centered recovery groups for sexually broken men. Mike brings an amazing skill set to his role as Director of Operations. Best of all, he listens to the Lord and obeys him. Mike and his wife Joy attend Campus Bible Church in Fresno.
