We are excited to announce that we have been very blessed to be able to hire two new counselors at the ministry.

Rocky Pisor, CounselorLast year, John Palms left the NCM counseling team and returned to private practice. His departure left the need for a male counselor. We were greatly blessed to hire Rocky Pisor who was already very familiar with the ministry. As a past client of NCM, Rocky experienced profound healing and went on to lead our Tender Loving Care group counseling for many years. It is so exciting to see how the Lord heals our brokenness and then uses it to minister to the brokenness in others.

As it states in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us from all our tribulation so we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

After starting in ministry, Rocky was a successful businessman for twenty-two years.  But, his sexual brokenness led him and his wife to seek and find relational healing for the pain they struggled with in their own marriage. Since then, God has used Rocky in pastoral ministry, teaching ministry, and counseling work. His personal healing has allowed him to develop and lead recovery groups for men and equip leaders to grow in their ministry gifts. He has also spoken at church conferences on the subject of God’s healing work in the lives of those with unwanted sexual desires.

God has also given Rocky a huge heart (and skillset) to work with couples in marriage counseling. His passion is to help others experience sustainable healing through faith-based life skills. He is a certified Sexual Addiction Mentor through Bravehearts University, a certified facilitator for the Prepare & Enrich Marriage Assessment, and a certified Trauma-Informed Minister through Ace Overcomers and the Center for Resiliency and Trauma-Informed Training.

In the middle of 2020, Sheryl Busby let us know she planned to retire at year-end. After months of prayer and searching, the Lord was faithful and provided the perfect person for the position. This person is Lila Pisor, the wife of Rocky.

Lila has been involved in individual and couple counseling for many years. She has a passion for helping women deal with trauma and betrayal trauma. The Lord has healed her from her own trauma at a very young age through adulthood. Like all the counselors at NCM, she has personally experienced God’s healing and has a gift for helping others experience their healing as well.

She had founded her own ministry, “Freedom Walkers,” and then co-founded “Regener8 Mentoring Ministry” with her husband Rocky. She is a certified Sexual Addiction Mentor through Bravehearts University, a certified facilitator for the Prepare & Enrich Marriage Assessment, and a certified Trauma-Informed Minister through Ace Overcomers and the Center for Resiliency and Trauma-Informed Training.

Rocky and his wife, Lila, are leaders at The River Church Fresno.
